A Design Journey
I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Electronic Media, transforming from comic illustrator to web designer during the early days of HTML and transparent GIFs. This combination of creativity and technical systems has guided my journey through e-learning, fintech, dating apps, and enterprise software to my current focus on design systems.
Born in the Isan region Thailand and raised near Chicago, my perspective is uniquely cross-cultural. My childhood nickname ‘gupkae,’ Lao for gecko, reflects my design philosophy—creating solutions that stick and prevent users from falling through the cracks. Outside work, I write Lao-inspired children’s books, create comics, and build experimental apps.
With 20+ years crafting scalable products and cross-platform experiences, I blend technical expertise with user-centered design. I believe that powerful tools should feel playful, making people’s lives more enjoyable.
